This interesting plant has been used medicinally in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda medicine for centuries (commonly known in these practices as Gokshura).

It has a variety of purported health benefits, including increasing libido, enhancing athletic performance, and for a wide range of health issues that include heart and circulatory conditions and sexual issues.

Tribulus terrestris, native to arid regions in Europe, Asia, Africa, and northern Australia, is considered an aggressive and invasive species in many parts of the world. The plant is known for its long, sharp, spiny fruit which can be dangerous to feet and bike tires alike!

Because of this painful threat, (punctures can hurt for days), its also known by such names as puncture vine, devil’s thorn, and goat’s head.
